POWERFACT: When you speak from your heart, you elevate the level of communication and create a stronger connection.
During our annual Inventory Intensive event, I did something I don’t normally do — I shared a bit of “my story”. When I was 16, I became an emancipated minor and lived on my own. It does something to a kid when that happens, and it affects your belief system — especially in yourself. When I started in real estate I was just 19. I had an awesome broker and I learned a lot. At the time though — I couldn’t really speak with authority about my ability or worth — because I didn’t feel that way about myself. I did, however, believe in real estate and could speak with passion and from the heart about what working with a real estate agent can do for homeowners.
So I came by this strategy quite by accident — but I can tell you it makes all the difference in the world. When you go on your next listing conversation appointment — speak from your heart about the top two to five things that you are really passionate about — that you know will help those sellers.
So, this is my challenge to you this week: Make a list of the things that YOU DO — and love to do to help homeowners. Then follow it up with why that is and why you love doing what you’re doing. When you’re rock solid on those things — you’ll naturally speak more from the heart and create a stronger connection, which will lead to more listings.
