Stop Stalling, Start Serving: A Challenge for Success
Challenges are hard, especially in our industry right now, which is why it’s easier to stay stuck. Being stuck, however, doesn’t grow your business.
As a real estate coach, I do my best to keep my fingers on the pulse of the industry so that I can guide POWER AGENTS® to the best of my ability. One thing that worries me as your coach isn’t the challenges you face – it’s the excuses you may be making to avoid those challenges without even realizing it.
Let’s take a moment to break it down: as long as you stay confused, as long as you keep struggling to “figure it out,” you’ve got a built-in reason not to be productive. Some of you might subconsciously not want to understand all these new changes, because once you do, you lose your excuse for not moving forward in your business. That’s not being harsh, that’s just human nature. Does this sound familiar? If you’re being honest with yourself, you might start seeing the excuses you are making that are holding you back.
There’s no need to be ashamed if that sounds like you because as human beings, we are wired that way. We do whatever we can to avoid challenges because, quite literally, we’re instinctually designed to avoid pain. On many levels, it’s easier to stay stuck than to push forward and take control. Getting unstuck is work. A LOT of work, and a lot of uncertainty, but here and now, I’m challenging you to stop that pattern.
It’s Not Just About The Excuse, It’s About Facing Your Fear
I know some of you are avoiding taking the leap because you’re afraid to fail. But here’s the thing: fear, confusion, hesitation are all just distractions. What you need to do is get out there, get past your challenge, and make it happen.
Here’s your action plan…
Commit to two weeks of figuring it out. Two weeks: no more, no less. After that, you’re done. No more using confusion as a reason not to take action. At the end of those two weeks, you’ll have clarity, and you’ll start moving full steam ahead toward more appointments, more listings, and more success.
The time has come for you to commit to mastering whatever it is you’re struggling with. Whether it’s a new form, understanding professional fee structures, or just getting more comfortable picking up the phone—set a two-week deadline for yourself. You need to be focusing on getting more listing appointments, closing more deals, and doing the money-making activities that grow your business, not wringing your hands in fear and confusion.

No Really, Commit to It
Now, don’t just mentally agree with me and then go back to your old habits. Commit to it. Write it down. Say it out loud: “I’m giving myself two weeks to get this, and after that, I’m driving forward in my business.” Go on, say it out loud right now, I’ll wait.
Forms, Rules, and Paperwork Are Not Moneymakers
This is a people business. This isn’t a business focused on forms, rules, and paperwork, but on serving the needs of our clients. The money is in getting out there, booking listing appointments, and making deals happen. Yes, some things have changed. There are extra steps, extra math, and maybe a bit more hassle. But the thing is, each of those things are something that you can learn. What you should be focusing on is how to get more listings, not how to fill out forms.

Here’s the bottom line: if you want to level up in this business, you’ve got to take control. No more hiding behind confusion or excuses. It’s time to commit to understanding the things that have been holding you back, and once you do, watch how your business transforms!
This industry is filled with distractions and obstacles, but the successful agents are the ones who face them head-on and push through the confusion. You’ve got the tools, the training, and the support you need to be great—now it’s about taking action. Give yourself that two-week challenge, master what you need to master, and then shift your focus to the real work: getting more listings, making more deals, and building a business that thrives.
